A Message from our Chair of Trustees
I am delighted to be joining the Trust at this somewhat turbulent time. We are all well aware of the substantial economic challenge facing the country and recognise that our many local authority partners are all entering a long period of financial constraint. We understand that, as an acknowledged leader in our sector, we have a duty to ensure that we are constantly delivering excellent levels of service and added value for our clients, whilst always seeking ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness within our schools and to make a real difference within our local communities. Such bold ambition is only possible because of the excellent work that has already taken place over many years at GGSET and which is now being carried forward by our dedicated teams at all levels. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many Trustees, Governors and staff who have provided such a wonderful heritage and to assure them all that we will continue to develop our organisation with similar determination, dedication and strategic vision.
It may seem strange that we should adopt such a positive attitude in testing times, but this is the moment when leading organisations in all walks of life discover new opportunities to expand areas of excellence and to provide new ways of delivering specialist services. Sue and her Senior Executive Team have already begun a review of our strategy and will ensure that everyone has an opportunity to contribute to the process. We have always recognised that our staff are our key resource and have a proud tradition of promoting professional development and training. Your efforts on our behalf are greatly appreciated and we recognise that you are the body of individuals who really understand how we can best deliver our mission. Please give us the benefit of your wisdom and feel free to contribute your thoughts and ideas at any time.
Whenever conditions are difficult it can be easy to forget just how important our collective efforts are. During my initial introductions to the Trust, I was offered the opportunity to enjoy a brief tour of both Brantridge and Grafham Grange, conducted by several student ambassadors. The level of commitment, dedication and pride they all displayed in their schools was astonishing and a source of genuine inspiration for us all.
I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible during this term and to joining you all in Building Better Futures!
