Children's Services Update

New Development for Brantridge School -Day Provision (as approved by DCSF)
Brantridge is now able to offer a more flexible approach to placements which will allow us to support a wider range of pupils in reaching their potential within the ethos of seeking individual solutions for children. Each day pupil will be allocated a Key Worker and will have access to Therapeutic Support Services. The extended day (08:15am – 17:00) allows day pupils to interact with the social training schemes in school and maximise their personal development.
We currently have a few vacancies in years 2, 3, 4, & 5 and are now interviewing for pupils for year 2 for the beginning of the new academic year in September 2010.
If you require any further information regarding Brantridge School’s vacancies or fees please contact Carole Johns (Family Support and Inclusion Manager) on 01444 400228 or fsim@brantridge-school.co.uk
Therapeutic Support Services
Since the expansion of the Therapeutic Support Services at Brantridge, in addition to Art Psychotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy, pupils can now access counselling support to target specific issues or areas of development. Multi disciplinary planning for pupil’s progress is supported by the Consultant Psychiatrist. In addition to this service we are able to offer Therapeutic support sessions for individual families. The impact to date of extending these services has doubled the numbers of pupils accessing Therapeutic Services.
New Development at Grafham Grange School
After approval from the DCSF, Grafham Grange School now has the provision to offer students the opportunity to continue their education into our post 16 department up until the age of 19 years. Our bespoke post 16 programmes offer a variety of individualised support with the focus on accessing a mainstream college. Students have the opportunity to access extended work experience, the ASDAN programme and additional GCSE’s or GCSE re-sits alongside their college course with the end outcome aimed at future engagement in education, training or employment in the pupils home area.
We have also secured agreement for up to 8 day students available to young people within a reasonable travelling distance to the school on either a full day status or as a transition programme into a residential placement. Day students have full access to the National Curriculum including vocational programmes, along with therapeutic support services, independent listener service, key working, family support and evening activities.
Grafham Grange are currently interviewing for Year 7 students for September 2010, current year 7, 8  and 9  students both for day and residential placements.
